Followers of Babasaheb Dr. B.R Ambedkar celebrated his 131st Birth Anniversary in Brampton city of Ontario Canada on April 23, 2022. Program was organized in Royal India Restaurant at 31 Melanie Dr. Brampton, Ontario. About more than 200 people participated in the program which included adults and children. Program started with religious ceremony and Buddhist prayer was performed by Venerable Bhante Saranpala from West End Buddhist Temple and Meditation Centre in Mississauga. Bhante Ji advised all to follow the teachings of Buddha and also follow Babasaheb mission. Ajit Lear from Ambedkar Mission performed the duties of stage Secretary. Mr. Kashmira Singh was the key note speaker of the day and he advised all to work hard to achieve individual and common goals to serve the community. Mr. K.L Sodhi from India also gave talk on Babasaheb mission and advised everybody to pay back to society. Mr. Darbara Singh Swan also emphasised to follow the teachings of Buddha and follow the Babasaheb mission in true sense. Vaishali Duphare from Ambedkar Mission sang a song in Marathi saying that condition of women in India was very poor but Babasaheb raised their status to the highest level by providing them equal opportunity in all fields. Rajshree also sang another song in Marathi remembering the memories of Babasaheb. Vaishal and Nitin Duphare’s son, Sachin recited a poem in English on Babasaheb. Rajshree and Andre Manhertz’s son Ajit Manhertz also gave a speech on Babasaheb life and history. Mr. Avinash Dhone’s son Aarnav Dhone gave a short nice speech on Babasaheb life history. Apurva Mohile son (Josh) and daughter (Anna) replayed the very impressive dialogues from Jhund movie between Amitabh Bachan and court prosecutor in front of the court judge. All the audience were amazed by their performance as both kids memorised all the dialogues and no written notes were used. Alankar Lavatre’s daughter Akshara Lavatre also gave speech on Babasaheb. Other speakers of the day included Osho Raj. Mr. Jagiri Bains and Mr. Nirmal Sallan. Mr. Harmesh Singh from Brampton Guru Ravidaas Sabha recited a beautiful poem in Punjabi. Snacks were provided in the beginning and program ended with beautiful dinner.
